The company is seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, cost accounting, compliance and financial control activities at its Mbeya Plant.
The position requires a professional who can maintain accurate accounting records, analyse financial information and help management make informed operational and financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial reporting and analysis
The successful candidate will prepare financial reports, analyse accounting information and identify opportunities to improve finance processes. Accurate reporting will be important in supporting operational planning and management decisions.
Cost accounting and operational monitoring
The Senior Accountant will review daily material movement records and sales reports to ensure that information is accurate before it is posted to the accounting books.
This responsibility requires close attention to inventory movements, production-related costs and sales transactions.
General ledger and financial closing
The successful candidate will ensure that general ledger accounts are updated daily and coordinate daily, weekly, monthly and year-end closing activities.
Monthly and year-end closing processes are expected to be completed within the company's required timelines, including the fourth or fifth day of the relevant closing period, as specified in the advertisement.
Tax compliance, variance analysis and auditing
The position also involves maintaining tax compliance, analysing financial variances and supporting audit activities.
The successful candidate should help ensure that financial records are complete, reliable and prepared in accordance with applicable requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
A degree or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
At least three years of relevant professional experience.
CPA modules.
