Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:
Provide medical consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients.
Take accurate patient histories and conduct physical examinations.
Request and interpret appropriate laboratory and radiological investigations.
Manage common medical conditions and emergencies appropriately.
Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals when necessary.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient medical records.
Participate in emergency care, ward rounds, outpatient services, and other clinical activities.
Provide health education and counselling to patients and their attendants.
Follow hospital policies, professional ethics, and infection prevention and control procedures.
Collaborate with nurses, specialists, laboratory staff, radiology staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Perform other relevant duties assigned by the Medical Director or Hospital Management.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree or an equivalent recognized medical qualification from a recognized institution.
Be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
Possess a valid practising licence.
Previous experience working in a hospital, health centre, or similar healthcare facility will be an added advantage.
Experience in emergency and outpatient care will be an added advantage.
Demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, clinical, and decision-making skills.
Be able to work under pressure and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to patient-centred care.
