TANROADS Job Vacancies – 7 Positions | September 2026

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) has announced seven (7) job vacancies for qualified Tanzanian professionals. The vacancies are related to the road upgrading project Kongwa Jct – Ngambi – Mpwapwa (32.0 Km), LOT I, in Dodoma Region.

The recruitment is being conducted by the Regional Manager of TANROADS Dodoma on behalf of the Chief Executive. The available positions include engineering, land surveying and materials-related opportunities.

1. Senior Engineer – Structures / Bridge Engineer

This position is available for qualified engineering professionals with relevant experience in structural and bridge engineering.

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant professional registration as required.
  • Relevant working experience in engineering and road/bridge projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • A Master's Degree is an added advantage.
  • Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant working experience.
  • Must have served as a Resident Engineer on at least two projects of a similar nature.
  • Must be prepared to work in Dodoma Region for extended periods during the project.

Main Duties

  • Lead site personnel and supervise technical, operational and administrative activities.
  • Supervise contractors and force account operations.
  • Develop detailed project work plans.
  • Manage project contracts and quality control procedures.
  • Review contractor invoices for payment approval.
  • Prepare progress reports and attend site meetings.
  • Monitor social and environmental impact mitigation measures.

5. Senior Topographical / Land Surveyor

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Must be officially registered as a Land Surveyor.
  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant working experience.
  • Must have worked as a Topographical Surveyor on at least two road projects of similar magnitude and complexity within the last six years.
  • Must be ready to work in Dodoma Region for considerable periods.

Main Duties

  • Direct and supervise field survey teams.
  • Plan field survey operations.
  • Establish and confirm survey control points.
  • Conduct pre- and post-construction topographical surveys.
  • Establish survey control plans for GPS and LPS equipment.
  • Carry out layouts for earthworks, pavements, structures and drainage systems.
  • Maintain daily records and perform analytical calculations.
  • Search and verify geodetic reference points and national benchmarks.
  • Prepare survey plans, maps and reports.
  • Inspect construction works for compliance with technical specifications.
  • Review designs to verify dimensions and quantities.


6. Engineer II – Works Inspector (Drainage / Structure)
