ABOUT BOLT TANZANIA

Bolt is a technology company operating in the mobility and ride-hailing sector. The company provides digital transportation services and works with driver partners and riders through its technology platform.

Bolt Tanzania is seeking a qualified and experienced Operations Specialist to support the growth and expansion of its ride-hailing operations across Tanzania.



JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Specialist will play an important role in launching and scaling Bolt's ride-hailing services across secondary cities in Tanzania.

The position will focus on driver acquisition, onboarding optimization, city-level growth initiatives and maintaining a good balance between driver supply and customer demand.

The successful candidate will work with different teams to analyze operational information and turn it into practical actions that improve business performance.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the end-to-end driver acquisition process from lead generation to driver activation.
  • Use scout programmes, referral schemes and targeted channels to achieve driver supply targets.
  • Improve driver onboarding through engagement centres, field clinics and compliance checks.
  • Monitor driver activation and early retention performance.
  • Develop and implement expansion plans for new and secondary cities across Tanzania.
  • Maintain an effective balance between driver supply and customer demand.
  • Plan and implement campaigns to increase driver activation and local ride demand.
  • Monitor, analyze and report key operational performance indicators.
  • Turn operational data into clear and prioritized action plans.
  • Work closely with Marketplace, Driver Engagement and Rider Operations teams to identify and solve operational challenges.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving overall market performance.



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in operations, logistics, ride-hailing, e-commerce or technology-driven marketplace businesses.
  • Experience in the Tanzanian market or similar regional markets is an added advantage.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to analyze performance dashboards and operational data.
  • Strong execution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with field teams, driver partners and senior stakeholders.
